Partner / Principal

With the opportunity to make a difference within our industry, John Flatley came out of retirement to join ATG as a founding partner and serve as the Principal responsible for our Northeast operations. With 19 years of accounts payable audit recovery experience, John is one of the senior-most members of our group.


John was a Principal with Robert Beck & Associates in charge of the Northeast region. In this role, John directed all sales and operational activity in that area. As one of the senior principals, he was instrumental in providing direction for the company and contributed to the controlled growth and exceptional quality service-delivery that Robert Beck & Associates experienced through the 1990’s. Under John’s direction, his region grew from a relatively modest base to the company’s largest revenue producer. He maintained close ties with both his audit groups and clients, always requiring a very client-focused approach to his region’s audit service deliverables.

After the sale of RBA to The Profit Recovery Group International, Inc. (now PRG-Schultz International, Inc.), John assisted PRG by delaying his planned early retirement and assumed responsibility for their Northeast operations as a Vice President.

Before entering the accounts payable audit recovery industry, John held several executive positions with large US corporations, including General Mills and Federal Signal. He has consistently been involved in numerous projects that required strategic and operational consulting. John has consistently brought a very analytical and sincerely forthright approach to all problem solving situations throughout his career.

He received a BBA degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA degree from Northwestern University, after serving with the US Army in Vietnam. Additionally, John earned a CPA and CMA. John and his wife, Linda, have four children, 2 grandchildren and split their residence between Chicago and Naples, FL.
